André CHIENG,
born in Marseilles in 1953 into a Chinese family, has been educated the Chinese way in his family and the French way at school.
Initially interested by the classics, he ends up studying mathematics and sciences, and enters Ecole Polytechnique of Paris.
Once graduated, he is attracted by economy which he studies in Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique and Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Paris.
In 1978, he decides to stay two years in China where he teaches economy at university.
He returns to France in 1980 and joins the Louis Dreyfus Group as general manager of Brambilla company, one of the oldest French trading firms specialised in commercial exchanges with China.
He becomes chairman of this company, that in 1988 turns into AEC and practices consulting.
Since 2001, he has been living in Beijing.
Also vice-president of the France China Committee, André Chieng is advisor of Hebei province and Honourable Member of the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
In 1987, he co-authored Les Nouvelles Routes de la Soie, published by Economica. In 2006, he published La pratique de la Chine, en compagnie de François Jullien with Grasset editions.

Bertrand CRISTAU
was born near Nantes (France) in 1958. He graduated from Ecole Centrale of Paris. In 1981, he studies Chinese in Beijing. In 1983, he became permanent representative of Brambilla in Beijing, then Deputy General Manager of Brambilla in 1987 in Paris. He became General Manager of AEC in 1988.
He has lived in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Paris since 1990.
Since 2004, Bertrand Cristau is living in Shanghai, where he is in charge of the development of the outsourcing activity.
Bertrand Cristau is vice-president of the “Centraliens” group (graduated from the Ecole Centrale of Paris) and one of the mediator of the Sino-French Center of Mediation". |
